Well it’s been one of those days where things just seem to go wrong in all sorts of places, but I guess we can’t win everything. Today however was Towel Day and it pleases me to know that no Vorgons fell from the sky and no planets were blown up – at least as far as I know anyway. There was however a sick friend, a few headaches, a carnivorous seagull and a mismade roll which left another friend without lunch.

For those of you who don’t know, Towel Day is a day set up in commemoration of Douglas Adams and his Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy series. My friends and I set out for a picnic, with our towels of course, for they are things of so many uses. We didn’t encounter any other towel carriers throughout the day but we did find a few who at least knew of the reason we were all carrying or drapped in brightly coloured towels in the middle of the city of Melbourne.

After lunch we accomanied our towels on a tour of the “Game On” expo, where amongst the classic mario games, DDR, Pong and mounds of pokemon mercindise we stumbled upon a Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy Game of all things. I’m yet to reach the end up if anyone does I congratulate them. Enjoy and don’t forget, always know where your towel is.
