Well here I am with just 1 week to go before I take off on my 2 week vacation to Vietnam and I guess I need to not only write this weeks blog but probably the next 2 weeks worth too.

So what to write about? I suppose what I did over the last week might prove of some interest. At least to some people it might.

Well I started off the week by posting some of my WH40K mini’s on Cool Mini Or Not only to later take them down when I figured out a bit more about how to picture edit with the program I have available to do it on. After which I of course proceeded to post the newly created combined picture that displayed my work from multiple angles.

Of course there was that nagging doubt in my mind that there was probably more limits to what was an acceptable post than just the number of pixels it could be from left to right. Indeed my posts were rejected because they were well over the 200MB file size limit, which they had imposed.

So I went back to my picture editor and shrunk the files down via a process of cropping and shrinking the pictures until they were under that 200MB size limit.

So if you’re interested you can take a look here for the Green of my experimental upsized Space Marine Terminator Sergeant with his Belt-fed Storm Bolter and everything else I decided he needed even though he was only an experimental prototype meant to help me get a grip on what will be needed to make a whole squad of these monsters later and for them to be properly proportioned.

The painted version of my experimental upsized Space Marine Terminator Sergeant is also an experiment in itself, as I wanted to see if a particular color scheme would work. It was kind of a rush job as I had a deadline to finish him if I was going to enter him in the local seasonal GW shop painting competition. Alas I lost because of some rushed, not thought through too well stuff I did on his back, which I subsequently fixed up.

Next comes the green of my Blood Angels Space Marine Chaplain with Assault Shrine, which I started work on way back in the days before I discovered they had fixed the problems with Green Stuff being already cured in the pack which made it absolutely unworkable. So I was trying to make it entirely with GW plastics and Strip Styrene (also known as plasticard) but then I later incorporated some work with Green Stuff.

Last and probably oldest of the minis I posted is my Blood Angels Honour Guard Veteran Sergeant Assault Space Marine. His main attraction is the work I did on is Jump Pack but also he carries a Bolt pistol made up to resemble an old style black powder pistol. I may be forced to paint him one of these days just to give me something else to post on Cool Mini Or Not.

And that’s just how my week started…
