I’m not sure what surprised Risky more. My complete lack of knowledge of any of the songs in the game (despite having an immediate family member who has been a radio DJ for longer than I’ve been alive), or the fact that I’d never played a Guitar Hero game whatsoever before he made me have a go at it a few weeks back.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I like music and rhythm based games. Both Ouendan games, the Taiko Master series, and Rhythm Tengoku all hold special places in my heart. But when it comes to combining these with manual dexterity or agility, like with GH or DDR, I literally fall flat on my face.
Maybe I should convince him to get Rock Band. I’ll still have no idea what any of these songs are, but at least I could play the Drum part competantly…probably.
