Bubble Ninja Copier Logo

Just pasting the logo I just designed. This ones for a pretty nifty file copying program my father wrote called ‘Ninja Copier’. You can grab a copy of this awesome program up at NinjaCopier.com.

Bubble Button Designs

Just pasting in the current badge designs for this years Supanova convention 2010. Some you maybe have already seen at last years convention, others are brand new and ready to go.

Bubble Centurion Armor

Just a quick concept sketch to explore what alien armor might look like on the alien homeworld ‘Charis’. I’ve borrowed rather heavily here from more eastern sources of armor, especially the Samurai of ancient Japan.

Bubble Zombie Types

Seems I’m in a bit of an artistic impasse. I’ve got a zombie comic to draw for this years Supanova convention and I have no idea what kind of zombie style I want to go with for it. As you can see above this is a basic study where I drew each of the basic three artistic ‘styles’ on the same page.

The first, top-right, is basically the super simplified ‘Nickelodeon’ style. The sort of fun zombie you’d see on ‘Space Invader Zim’ or ‘Sponge Bob Square Pants’. The second, top-left, is a bit more realistic. The sort of zombie you’d find in your more mature cartoons or comics like maybe ‘Ren and Stimpy’ or ‘Family Guy’. The third, bottom-center, is your super realistic type. The sort of zombie you’d find in a more adult genre, like the ‘Dawn of the Dead’ movie or ‘Walking Dead’ graphic novel.

Looking at the now I’m not completely sure which I will eventually choose. My first instinct is to go super-real because it’s more fun to draw, but most of my friends say I should go with the super simple one. We will just have to see…

Bubble Eiler Traliavin

Just a quick concept sketch to explore what Eiler Traliavin from the alien homeworld ‘Charis’ might look like. This sketch is only in the very early (alpha) stages, pending major changes both in style and in response to a completed script. I’ve heavily borrowed here from the Starbuck character from the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica series.

Bubble The Mad Hatter

My favourite two books of all time would have to be Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll. They’re defiantly two of the old classics, and they’re filled with references that no longer conjure the absurdities in people they once did. Still I find myself reading these novels over and over, they were the first books I ever read to myself and I’ve never fallen out of love with them since.

While I’ve been aware of the rumour for a while now, I’ve only just recently been made aware that Tim Burton has actually begun filming his adaption of the first novel. It’s set to release in 2010, and contains both live-action and animated components, with Johnny Depp naturally making an appearance as the Mad Hatter. Needless to say that this could be the fusion of two wonders, and the Nightmare Before Christmas has serious competition for the honor of being my all time favourite.

Bubble Alvin The Chipmunk

I grew up on cartoons, so it should be no surprise then that I’m very familiar with Alvin, my favorite of the chipmunks. I recently went to a party themed “come as your favorite childhood cartoon character”, so I dressed like him in a big over-sized red jumper with a big yellow ‘A’ hand-stitched onto the front.

Bubble Biological Hazard

I’m a fan of the survival horror genre, and zombies are a particular love of mine. I find that there’s a strange yet attractive quality in the living dead, especially the mindless, shambling, and decaying corpses, driven only by their most basic of impulses, and the need to feed upon human flesh.

I had decided that I would have a table in the artists alley at the 2007 Brisbane Supanova Convention, and a friend of mine had told me that I should draw a poster for the occasion. A good idea, but it was my first time as an exhibitor, so at the last minute I decided that a Romero style zombie poster would be impressive. The result was this digital painting, which took me about six hours to finish, and I only used my mouse.
